This gift corresponds to a reduction of CO2e emissions by 1 ton. For every ton financed, approximately seven trees are planted and 65 square meters of forest are protected. This project aims to restore biodiversity and create a healthy forest ecosystem across 13,385 hectares of Panama's rainforest. Located on the land bridge between North and South America, Panama's rainforest is one of the most species-rich areas on the planet. However, this important ecosystem is threatened by urban development and cattle ranching. So far, more than 7.5 million trees have been planted, helping to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), secure water resources, and reduce soil erosion. The project has already contributed to a reduction of approximately 1,330,758 tons of CO2e, which corresponds to nearly 3 percent of Sweden's annual climate impact.
