Dorotea Vase
Item no. CA393168691
The design is inspired by the nature surrounding the small village of Dorotea. Here, the ice has created a landscape of mountains, valleys, and large open areas, which together form soft, undulating shapes that seamlessly flow into one another. This transition is often overlooked, even though it is precisely here that the adventurous and surprising part of the design lies. With its minimalist and organic forms, the Dorotea collection combines tradition and craftsmanship with international-level design. Dorotea is made from 91% recycled stainless steel. This means the stainless steel has lived a previous life, as they say. In addition to being extremely durable, stainless steel can be melted down and transformed into new products without losing its properties and qualities. Stainless steel can be reused indefinitely and is therefore a material that keeps on giving. Design: Monica Förster Dorotea received the international design award German Design Award in 2024 in the category Excellent Product Design. Monica Förster (b. 1966) is one of Sweden's most internationally recognized and award-winning designers. Her upbringing in the small village of Dorotea in northern Sweden was marked by a great interest in meals and table settings, as her father was one of Sweden's leading chefs. Monica Förster's design is characterized by a thoughtful simplicity without unnecessary details, driven by a deep curiosity for new materials and manufacturing methods.
