Beautiful kerosene lamp made of glass with etched stripes and brass burner. Includes a wick. Material: Glass, Brass Color: Transparent Size: Ø 10 x H 30 cm INSTRUCTIONS: To fill with lamp oil and light the lamp: The kerosene lamp must be extinguished and cold when refilling. - Remove the burner tube and unscrew the burner. - Fill with lamp oil, about 2/3 of the container. Use a funnel to minimize spills. - Screw the burner back on and let the wick soak for 20-30 minutes until it becomes wet. - Light the lamp and adjust the flame so that it does not get too high by raising or lowering the wick. - Replace the burner tube. Note! The burner tube may need to be adjusted to be straight. When the glass is straight, use the metal clips on the burner to stabilize. To extinguish the lamp: Extinguish the kerosene lamp by blowing out the flame or lowering the wick. Changing the wick: The old wick is pulled out from below and the new one is inserted from below and screwed up to the correct height. Things to consider: When the lamp is lit, the burner tube is very hot. Place the lamp on a flat surface and not near flammable materials. Also, leave at least 1 meter of space above the lamp. The lamp is a primary light source and not a decoration; keep the lamp in sight and out of reach of children and pets. Lamp oil is very toxic if ingested. In case of ingestion, even very small amounts or by sucking on the wick, DO NOT induce vomiting but contact the Poison Information Center and a doctor. Kerosene lamps were the most common type of lamp in Sweden from the late 1800s into the early 1900s, when electric light became widespread. Our kerosene lamps are light sources designed to illuminate places where there is no electricity, such as on smaller boats, in holiday homes, and on balconies/patios. Kerosene lamps can also be useful during power outages as they provide very good light. (Read the accompanying instructions before using the lamp)
